Pot DUIs Fall Statewide, Tick Up In Denver

Marijuana-related DUIs have fallen slightly across Colorado this year, according to the State Patrol.

So far this year, the State Patrol has handed out nearly 500 citations for driving under the influence of marijuana. That's about a 6 percent decrease over the same period last year.

In Denver, home to the majority of the state's pot stores, marijuana DUIs ticked up slightly. There’ve been 56 citations this year – six more than over the same period last year.

Still, marijuana makes up only one in every six DUI citations handed out by State Patrol officers. It’s alcohol that’s mostly implicated in DUIs.
