Denver Rents Continue To Soar

Rents in metro Denver continue to climb sharply, but the vacancy rate is edging upward a bit.

The average rent in metro Denver hit almost $1,300 a month in the third quarter. That was up about $150 from the same period a year ago. The Apartment Association of Metro Denver also reports the highest rents were recorded in northwest Denver and the lowest in north Aurora.

New construction increased the vacancy rate from about 4 to 5 percent.
