A slow-moving storm out of the Pacific Northwest that brought the first snowfall of the season to the Denver area continues to bring snow to Colorado's mountains.
Much of the snow melted on hitting the pavement in the city but a little did accumulate grassy areas and some suburban streets by Thursday morning. The snow comes over two weeks after the average first snowfall date for the city.
Meanwhile, snow continued to accumulate at elevations above 6,000 feet. The National Weather Service says areas in and around Aspen, Vail and Telluride could get 6 to 12 inches of snow while totals for mountain passes and the tops of mountains could reach up to 20 inches by end of the day.
