Skier Rescued After Summit County Avalanche

· Nov. 23, 2015, 3:08 pm

An avalanche near Breckenridge trapped a back country skier on Saturday – and two more snow slides were reported Sunday in Summit County.

The skier Saturday was injured and brought out of the mountains by helicopter. A group of snowboarders avoided getting caught in the slide Sunday near Arapahoe Basin.

The Colorado Avalanche Information Center ranks avalanche danger as moderate throughout the high country. That’s down from last week when the danger was higher in heavy snow and windy weather.
