Cheney, In Colo., Chides Obama, Promotes Book

Former Vice President Dick Cheney says the next president of the United States needs to be someone who understands the world we live in and who is "prepared to make unbelievably difficult decisions."

Speaking at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood last night, Cheney said the Obama administration has damaged and weakened the military, and that the threat level today is greater than it was following the Sept. 11 attacks.

Cheney is on a tour to promote his new book. The New York Times quoted him yesterday criticizing Republican presidential contender Donald Trump for demanding all Muslims be denied entry to the United States.

Well I think this whole notion that somehow we need to say no more Muslims and just ban a whole religion goes against everything we stand for and believe in. I mean religious freedom’s been a very important part of our, our history.
