Colorado Business Owner To Be Michelle Obama’s Guest At State Of The Union

only 23 guests invited by the First Lady to attend President Obama's final State of the Union Tuesday night. She's also the only White House guest from Colorado.

Rice is the CEO of her family-operated company that has operated since 1924 across five generations, says the White House. The business, Lucky Clover Honey, exports raw and unfiltered honey globally and has export sales per year of about $500,000.

The First Lady isn't the only one with guests from Colorado though. Members of Colorado's congressional delegation have distributed a few invitations too.

Rep. Jared Polis invited a 12-year-old student who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a toddler, reports KMGH. And Rep. Doug Lamborn gave his extra ticket to Polis so the girl's father could accompany his daughter to the speech. The station also says that Rep. Ed Perlmutter has invited Sandy Phillips, the mother of one of the Aurora theater shooting victims.
