Colorado Ski Country USA reports a 10 percent increase in visitors at its 21 member properties. It’s the third year in a row that early season visitation is higher than the five-year average.

Colorado Ski Country USA President Melanie Mills calls the early season conditions the best in recent memory.

“Even a couple very cold days between Christmas and New Year’s didn’t keep folks from taking advantage of the powder conditions,” she said in a press release.

A series of snowstorms in November and December led to booking and allowed ski areas to open terrain during the holiday period. Many reached the 100-inch snow milestone before the end of the calendar year.
