Walmart To Shutter 154 US Stores, Including 2 In Colorado

Walmart says two stores in Colorado will close, both in the Denver area. The company says growing competition and increased online sales are why 269 stores are closing worldwide.

The Walmart on West Bowles Avenue in Jefferson County closes on Sunday and the South Monaco Parkway store in Denver will close Jan. 28. Walmart is Colorado's largest private employer. The company says 154 stores in the U.S. will close, affecting about 10,000 workers.
