April isn't here yet but bears have been spotted in the Aspen area.
The Aspen Times reports that the Aspen Police Department has received two calls about bear sightings in the past four days, with bears spotted on Sunday and Monday.
Aspen police community response supervisor Gretchen Born says it is likely that both calls were about the same bear since it is so unusual for a bear to be out at this time of year.
Aspen police community response officer Dave Paschal says late April of May is much more common for bear sightings and that March seems "awfully early."
