Drought Returns To SE Colorado

Drought conditions are returning to southeast Colorado, after a relatively wet year in 2015.

The U.S. Drought Monitor reports dry conditions increased in the extreme southeast corner of Colorado over the past week. That section is considered to be in a moderate drought – the second-lowest level.

The entire southeast section is at the lowest level – abnormally dry -- as is part of southwest and northeast Colorado. Last June, the southeast part of the state was not experiencing drought conditions – and that was for the first time in years.
