Nearly 70 Displaced By Blaze At Littleton Apartment Complex

Officials are trying to secure housing for nearly 70 people displaced by a fire at a Littleton apartment complex for seniors.

The Denver Post reports that fire officials say the blaze broke out in a fourth-floor apartment Wednesday. Littleton spokeswoman Kelli Narde says no injuries have been reported, but four people were taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The five-story building was evacuated and the Red Cross was moving displaced residents to a nearby church to stay overnight. Narde says firefighters are working to determine whether residents will be allowed back into their apartments Thursday.

The Red Cross was also trying to secure medicine and other necessities for the residents. The city is asking for donations of portable oxygen bottles.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
