Fort Collins Police Arrest 9 Men For Patronizing Prostitutes

Fort Collins police have arrested nine men they say were trying to arrange private meet-ups with prostitutes.

The Coloradoan reports that officers posted advertisements on the escort sections of websites like Backpage and Craigslist. Officer Annie Hill says nine men responded and planned to meet women for sex at a hotel.

Officers arrested the men in the hotel parking lot Tuesday and charged them with patronizing a prostitute.

Hill says three women were cited, but not arrested, for prostitution.

Two women were also cited for operating without an escort license. Escort services are legal if sex is not involved.

The FBI, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Loveland police, Colorado State Patrol, Larimer county Sheriff's Office and Larimer County District Attorney's Office helped with the operation.
