Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor To Speak In Colorado

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is set to give several speeches during a two-day visit to Colorado.

Sotomayor, the first Hispanic and third woman to serve on the Supreme Court, will take questions from judges and attorneys Thursday afternoon at a judicial conference in Colorado Springs.

Later, she will address students and faculty at Metropolitan State University in Denver. The university says she will share details of her life story during the sold-out event. Her tour continues Friday with a fireside-chat style lecture at the University of Colorado Law School as part of its program to bring current and former justices to the Boulder campus.

President Barack Obama nominated the Bronx native to the Supreme Court in 2009.
