Alan Cass may have been best known as an announcer for CU football and basketball games, but he also announced home games for the Broncos. Cass died earlier this month at age 77. His influence went well beyond the announcer’s booth. Cass joined CU in 1959 as a stagehand at Macky Auditorium. He went on to manage Macky, the University Memorial Center, and Coors Event Center. In 1969, beginning with a humble display case, he also sought to honor one of CU's most famous students, orchestra leader Glenn Miller. Eventually, the idea grew into the Glenn Miller Archive.
