A small wildfire west of Golden has closed U.S. Highway 6 in both directions through Clear Creek Canyon Park.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office initially estimated the fire is at just one acre, but at about 6 p.m., that estimate was increased to 15 acres. Eight different agencies are fighting the fire currently.

Forecasters issued a red flag warning through 8 p.m. today along the Front Range due to hot, dry, and windy conditions.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
