"Experience joyful music-making by three world-class musicians when the Zukerman Trio returns to Harris Concert Hall! Opening the program is a short and sweet piece by Sofia Belimova inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and written when she was only 14. Part of a series of pieces inspired by color, Jennifer Higdon’s Pale Yellow is a tribute to Claude Monet. Beethoven’s final piano trio, dedicated to his patron, friend, and composition student, Archduke Rudolf, is one of the pinnacles of the entire chamber music repertoire. Here is Beethoven at his most noble, spiritual, majestic – and playful."
