Event Description

BassoonaRAMa brings together bassoonists ranging in ages 12 to 72, from across the country, and features guest artists and clinicians. This year's all virtual BassoonaRAMa features today's multifaceted bassoon successes, and explores what it means to have a life and success in and around music. Our 2021 guest artists include chamber and orchestral musicians, college professors, music researchers, and professional reed manufacturers.

We welcome bassoon students of all levels, teachers, and enthusiasts to join us for a day of masterclasses, academic presentations, reed roundtables, recitals, and discussions about all things bassoon. Registration required — free to auditors.

Expert Insights: "Beyond the Orchestra Excerpts" (Sara Erb, Sara Fruehe, Nellie Sommer)
Reed Roundtable: "Building a Business" (Ariel Detwiler/ACDC Reeds, Julie Threatte/Barton Cane)
Performance Masterclasses: "Advancing" (Kika Wright) and "Aspiring" (Cayla Bellamy)
