The Magic of Silence

Listen Now

You might think a silent film festival would attract just a handful of hardcore film buffs, but last year's first-ever Denver Silent Film Festival was a hit. Some screenings sold out. There’s renewed interest thanks in part to movies like The Artist, a modern silent film that won last year’s Academy Award for Best Picture. The second Denver Silent Film Festival starts Friday at the King Center on the Auraria campus. Ryan Warner talks to the festival's artistic director, Howie Movshovitz. He teaches film at the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Arts & Media, and he’s also CPR''s film critic.
