Who decides when someone should be involuntarily committed to a psychiatric facility? Should a patient choose a life-saving procedure that will place a huge burden on his family? Medical questions don’t always have clear answers. Doctors, patients and their families often need to make extremely difficult choices and it's likely that, someday, you'll have to too. Hard Call is a new podcast that tells the stories of people who have to make tough medical decisions, and delves into the ethics of their choices.

Dr. Matt Wynia co-hosts Hard Call. He's the director of the Center for Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He speaks with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner.
