The Underground Music Showcase returns to Denver's Baker neighborhood this weekend.
Each year the festival brings together hundreds of Colorado indie acts along with a unique selection of national artists.

San Fermin
This energetic and mutifaceted Brooklyn band was initially conceived for a one-off concert, but it's now a full touring band with two albums to their name. See them Sunday at the UMS Main Stage at 7:30 p.m.
Flaural
We first met this Denver band last summer, after several members slip from A Band In Pictures. Catch their psych-rock set Saturday at the Main Stage at 3:30 p.m.
Inner Oceans
This dreamy Denver band is set to release its debut album in September. They play Saturday at 3 Kings Tavern at 10 p.m.
Turner Jackson
A hip-hop MC turned party rocker, Jackson brings his "Red Plastic Cup" energy on Friday at Blue Ice Lounge at 9 p.m.
Edison
This Denver folk-rock band's set is one of the UMS performances OpenAir will film for the latest season of "OpenAir Live & Local." They play Saturday at South Broadway Christian Church at 11 p.m.
Plum
Another Denver band on the rise, Plum's earworm melodies and psychedelic rock guitars bring to mind Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. See them Friday at the Main Stage at 6 p.m.
Montoneros
Montoneros this year released the "Heat Horse" EP, which takes their South American-influenced rock into punk territory. They play Thursday at The Hornet at 10 p.m.
Ned Garthe Explosion
Day 3 of UMS features the "Disco Sucks" stage at Hi-Dive, which boasts some of Colorado's rowdier rock groups. Among them is surf-punk rocker Ned Garthe, who plays Saturday night at midnight at Hi-Dive.
Slow Caves
Brothers Jakob and Oliver Mueller hail from Denmark but now call Fort Collins home. They'll bring their self-described "synth-punk" to two UMS shows: Friday night at midnight at Illegal Pete's, and 4 p.m. Saturday at Irish Rover.
King Cardinal
The acoustic country-folk musings of Denver's Brennan Mackey kick off Saturday at South Broadway Christian Church at 3 p.m.
