Inequities in maternal health care are taking a big toll on women of color – doctors say it’s not uncommon for them to hear a Black pregnant person say they’re scared to die. Experts say it’s no easy fix: They say racism and implicit bias exist. This week, we have a real talk about maternal health for women of color, the resources available, and the contributing factors to Colorado’s rising maternal death rate.
Real Talk airs on CPR News and KRCC on Fridays at 3:30 p.m. and Mondays at 6:30 p.m. The TV show airs on Denver7 on Saturdays at 5:30 a.m. and Sundays at 5:30 p.m. It also airs on Local3 on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. and Sundays at 6:30 p.m.
