This last fire season was brutal, and land managers across the West are replanting a lot of the charred acreage. The seeds they really want are native and do well in the wild. But those seeds are in high demand, and that means they’re expensive. So agencies are aiming to ease the crunch with a giant new seed warehouse, south of Grand Junction. Ryan Warner talks with Jim Garner, of the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife. Garner says the new warehouse could help address another big problem: the lack of native plants on western lands in general.
