This state's senior population is one of the fastest growing in the nation and an increasing number of baby boomers are 65 or older. In a new series, Colorado Matters has been getting a glimpse of the challenges and opportunities the trend presents for Colorado. Meanwhile, the boomers are learning what old age brings as they take care of their parents.
A case-in-point: Denver author Mimi Pockross, who chronicles her family's life during her parents' final years in "The Takeover: An Unexpected Caregiver's Story." Pockross spoke with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner. On Monday, June 1 at 7 p.m., Pockross will present the book at the Tattered Cover Book Store, 2526 E. Colfax Ave., Denver.
