We put out the holiday call and you answered. Dozens of musicians entered for a chance to perform at the third annual Colorado Matters Holiday Extravaganza.
After careful consideration, our winner is a group of holiday sweater-wearing men.
Face Vocal Band, an a capella group from Boulder, performed an original mashup of "Winter Wonderland" sung to the tune of Led Zeppelin's "Misty Mountain Hop."
CPR Classical's Jeff Zumfelde was one of the contest judges. He had a few reasons for choosing the group.
"One is just the amount of fun that they are having. The other thing is just the immensely high quality of the music that they’re making," Zumfelde said. "They’re really, really outstanding musicians. Their vocal blend and the way that they are just able to take their voices and turn it into such a really great rock tune is really outstanding."
The sold-out Colorado Matters Holiday Extravaganza tapes Nov. 28 and will air on Colorado Matters in December.
