Last year, Colorado Springs Gazette reporter Dave Philipps published a ground-breaking series on soldiers being discharged from the military for misconduct. This week he won a Pulitzer Prize in the category of national reporting for his work. The Pulitzer is considered journalism’s most prestigious honor.
The investigative series, published over three days, details soldiers being discharged without benefits – some of them suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injury. Dave Philipps talked with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner about the Pulitzer and the story he uncovered.
