On Tuesday, master puppeteer David Simpich opened his summer season with a marionette version of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations. Simpich says people wanted to come to the show, despite the chaos of the Waldo Canyon Fire. The evacuations forced the cancellation of Wednesday's show, but now that the situation has improved, his summer schedule is back on track. Before the fire, Ryan Warner spoke to David about this summer’s tribute to Dickens.
