Most Americans know the Japanese island of Iwo Jima from the famous photo and statue that depict U.S. Marines raising a flag there in World War II. It's much more vivid for a group of Colorado veterans who fought there in 1945 ... when many of them were in their teens. The veterans recently returned to the island on a trip sponsored by the Denver-based Greatest Generations Foundation. Their journey is the subject of a documentary that airs on Memorial Day on Denver's Channel 7. Reporter Dayle Cedars went to Iwo Jima with the group and speaks with Ryan Warner.
