The Denver-born comedian Chris Charpentier now lives in Los Angeles, but he's making a prominent return to his hometown this week. Charpentier recorded his first stand-up comedy album at the Bug Theater on Aug. 19, and will perform at the High Plains Comedy Festival this weekend.
The comedy album, released on a label that's also recorded Patton Oswalt and Cameron Esposito, is part of a series of successes recently. Charpentier also performed a set on Jimmy Kimmel Live in June 2017. Even as he continues to stack up career bench marks, Charpentier told Colorado Matters he still gets nervous right before going onstage for a show.
