An artistic pairing comes back together this weekend. DeVotchKa, Indie rock mainstays, joins the biggest backing band in the biz -- the Colorado Symphony at Boettcher Concert Hall on Saturday, November 15. Their collaboration dates back to 2012, and resulted in DeVotchKa's album "Live with the Colorado Symphony." The music's well suited for orchestra -- sweeping and cinematic to begin with. The collaboration was so successful, it's become a tradition for the Symphony to partner with rock and pop acts. We spoke with Nick Urata, DeVotchKa's lead vocalist and songwriter, about the challenges and rewards of performing with an orchestra.
