Last week, the grieving parents of a University of Northern Colorado student released a haunting photo. It was a picture of an iPhone with an unfinished text. It read: "Sounds good my man, seeya soon, I'll"... Then it stops in the middle of the next word. Heit died before he could finish it. He was driving in Greeley on April 2 while apparently texting. He drifted into oncoming traffic and flipped his car. His parents say they released the photo, hoping to prevent something like this from happening again. The death comes as this year’s Lifesavers National Conference takes place in Denver, which is the country’s largest gathering of highway safety experts. Joining us is David Teater, of the National Safety Council, who’s put together several sessions on what he sees as an epidemic of distracted driving.
