Good Weather Means Big Western Slope Fruit Crops

Palisade orchards produced an unusually good apricot crop this summer.

A bumper crop of Palisade peaches is making its way to market. It's one of several Western Slope fruits, including apricots, that had a good growing year. "Benign" weather -- that means no drama at the beginning or end of the season -- did the trick, according to Bruce Talbott, production and orchard manager for Talbott Farms.

Talbott, a fifth-generation farmer, spoke to Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner.
