Governor Wrestling with Gun Control, Death Penalty
Name a hot-button issue and Governor John Hickenlooper may well be thinking about it right now. In the coming months, the governor will have to support, or possibly veto, bills on gun control, the death penalty, civil unions, public sector unions, and more. He's also meeting with Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the NRA. And he's contemplating the ramifications of legalizing marijuana. Hickenlooper talked about all those issues with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner during our monthly conversation.
From the governor's office, Warner headed downstairs to the basement press room where CPR's Megan Verlee works during the legislative session, to hear her take about some of the lightning-rod bills coming from the other side of the aisle.
