It's the driest start to winter on record in some areas, and Rocky Mountain snowpack is low. That's not great news for the seven states that rely on the Colorado River for water. Despite snow in the mountains last weekend and another storm likely on the way, KUNC reporter Luke Runyon tells Colorado Matters things are off to a dry-enough start that some scientists and water managers are on edge. Runyon covers the Colorado River basin and water issues in the American West.
