Leo Hayes, of Pagosa Springs, never saw himself making money off marijuana. He has always loved plants. When he retired from an engineering career at Mitsubishi, he wanted to find a way to grow herbs in his high-altitude kitchen, even during the dark, cold winter months. So Hayes came up with a new kind of grow light that uses LEDs. The result, called Sonnylight, has medical marijuana growers knocking at his door. Hayes speaks with Ryan Warner.
