Legislation That Would Limit Opioid Prescriptions Divides Some Doctors
State lawmakers passed several bills this session to combat Colorado’s opioid epidemic. One such measure that’s piqued the attention of doctors would scale back the number of painkillers that can be prescribed to patients.
CPR health reporter John Daley spoke to Colorado Matters about the 7-day prescription limit legislation, and why it has divided the medical professionals who think it will prevent addiction and those who believe it oversteps doctor and patient boundaries. The bill awaits the governor’s signature.
