The state’s unemployment rate is slowly falling, but Pueblo County’s remains stubbornly high. It's above ten percent, the highest among Colorado’s metro areas. There was a time, though, when Pueblo was home to one of the largest private employers in the Rockies, Colorado Fuel and Iron. CF&I ran a huge steel mill and dozens of coal mines. Now a historical society in the area is collecting oral histories from former CF&I employees. Ryan Warner speaks with Tim Hawkins, the archivist in charge of the project.
