Earlier this year, the Denver Architectural League announced a competition to design a hypothetical housing complex with eight tiny apartments. And by tiny, we mean no more than 375 square feet, roughly the size of a two-car garage. Turns out, there’s a lot of interest in microhousing, and not just in Denver. When the contest closed, there were 70 entries from more than 20 countries, and the top four winners were all from abroad. Jeff Sheppard is founder and principal of the Denver firm Roth Sheppard Architects. He talks to Ryan Warner.
