Folks hiking in Colorado’s mountains may recognize a certain squeaking sound. It's probably from a pika, a tiny creature that kind of looks like a mouse. Pika are actually related to rabbits. And scientists have been worried about them because they’ve been dying off in some parts of the west. It has a lot to do with warming temperatures. But it turns out that in the Southern Rockies, pika are doing okay -- for now. Ryan Warner talks with Liesl Erb of CU Boulder, who led a new study on the high-mountain animal.
