And now, we take some time to remember journalist Ed Quillen. The longtime Denver Post columnist died this past Sunday of a heart attack, at the age of sixty-one. For years, Quillen and his wife Martha ran Colorado Central Magazine, based out of Salida. They would cover any story, going after a public agency one day, then, doing something totally quirky the next, like reviewing the new copy of the local phone book. Ryan Warner remembers Ed Quillen with his daughter, Columbine Quillen.
There will be a service for Ed Quillen on Sunday, June 10th, at 2pm at the First United Methodist Church in Salida. It is open to the public.
In 2009, Quillen spoke with Colorado Matters when he and Martha sold Colorado Central Magazine. You can listen that interview here.
