Should Boulder’s Next Sister City be in the West Bank?
Boulder city council is expecting a packed house on Monday. A special meeting will address whether to adopt a sister city in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Nablus. Boulder city leaders have been flooded with letters for and against. This isn't the first time a proposed sister city has stirred a heated debate. Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, is a sister to Boulder. That bond was formed during the Cold War -- when Dushanbe was still part of the USSR. Ryan Warner moderates a conversation between Essrea Cherin, chair of the Boulder-Nablus project, and Bill Cohen, a retired attorney who leads the opposition.
