After visiting many of the country’s big oil and gas fields over the last few years, including in Colorado, researcher Daniel Raimi kept getting the same question: Could he recommend any books that offered a good overview of the modern oil and gas story? He tells Colorado Matters he couldn’t think of one, so he set out to write one himself.
“The Fracking Debate” has won praise from both industry and environmentalists. He says the effort to ban fracking is a like taking an axe to a problem when a scalpel would suffice, especially in the context of earthquakes and water contamination. With careful regulation, dangers can be greatly minimized.
