Tara Perry was given the longest prison sentence ever for a juvenile in the state who didn’t kill or main anyone. She was 16 when she and her boyfriend, Randy Miller, went on a three-day crime spree of armed robberies and home invasions. Miller killed himself during a police standoff. Perry was charged as an adult and wound up with 40 years. She’s now 29 and has become a model of rehabilitation and remorse, says writer Alan Prendergast. His article “The Girl Who Fell to Earth” appears in the latest Westword.
