Residents at one Denver retirement home had their choice of activities -- Tai Chi lessons, music lectures, meals in a big dining hall and, of course, family visits. Then one day, the front doors were locked and the “no visitors” sign went up. Former journalist Elaine Yaffe wrote that the community where she lived took on the appearance of a crime scene. She offers her perspective on life for the elderly in the age of coronavirus.
