Asian-American actors can have a hard time finding good roles. Even in 2013, they’re likely to end up playing the butler or the maid. On top of that, there aren't many Asian-American playwrights. That is especially true in Colorado. Well, the goal of a new theater company is to change that. Theatre Esprit Asia, TEA for short, opens its first season Thursday at the Vintage Theater in Aurora. Playwright and actress Maria Cheng founded TEA with Tria Xiong. Ryan Warner spoke with Cheng.
