The $500-million Union Station redevelopment project in Denver is nearing completion.
The historic terminal, with its iconic "Travel by Train" sign, is being converted into a hotel, which opens in July.
Behind it is a brand-new train platform for Amtrak service and commuter rail, including a line to Denver International Airport that will begin service in 2016.
The platform is covered by a 500-foot-long canopy made of the same white fabric you see at DIA. There's also a large underground bus station opening in May that replaces the station at 16th and Market streets.
