A soldier's experience of war as told through three generations of a Puerto Rican family. That's the crux of a play opening at Denver's Curious Theatre Company on Saturday. "Elliot, A Soldier's Fugue" is the first installment of a trilogy by Pulitzer-Prize-winning playwright Quiara Alegría Hudes. The theater presents Hudes' subsequent plays -- "Water by the Spoonful" and "The Happiest Song Plays Last" -- during the 2016-2017 season.

Chip Walton, producing artistic director of Curious Theatre Company, directs the play. Actor Thony Mena stars as Elliot Ortiz. They spoke with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner.
