Biotech in Colorado: Synthetic Sharkskin and So Much More

The Colorado BioScience Association holds a competition every other year to find the state's top new biotechnology start-up company. Nominees get the chance to pitch their ideas to a room full of potential investors. That's more important than ever in a down economy, when start-up funding is hard to find.

Competitors this year include a company spinning off flu vaccine research from CU, "the pond scum lady," and an artificial sharkskin manufacturer. Colorado Public Radio Health Reporter Eric Whitney has the story.
