Coffman plans legislation to boost rare earth metals

As lawmakers return to Capitol Hill and a new Republican House majority is sworn in this week, Colorado GOP Congressman Mike Coffman plans to introduce a bill to stimulate the U.S. production of rare earth metals.  They’re used in many high-tech products; in renewable energy and weapons systems.  Coffman says China's near control of the market is a threat to national security.  Colorado Public Radio’s Anna Panoka reports.
