Civil Unions Bill Passes Committee

A bill that would create civil unions cleared its first hurdle in the state house yesterday. Supporters of the measure say it's a major step forward to create equal rights under the law for same sex couples. But opponents worry it would undermine the traditional family unit of a mom and a dad. Bente Birkeland describes what was at times, an emotional hearing at the state capitol.
