In 1996, a group of six French monks living in the mountains of Algeria were taken from their monastery and murdered. It's presumed that the killers were fundamentalist Islamic terrorists operating in Algeria at the time. Colorado Public Radio film critic Howie Movshovitz says that in its tranquil way, the new Movie "Of Gods and Men" honors both the monks and their killers.
